Prenatal Care, first trimester of pregnancy

There have been many challenges overcome in the series “Everything that can go wrong with fertility” and now we have reached the first trimester of pregnancy.

Our dream is that pregnancy is one of the most beautiful stages in the life of the new mother, to ensure that we carry out regular monitoring and check-ups.

We do not call it a baby check-up or mother checks, it is called fetal-maternal care and it is important that the importance of this duality be clear to us,

If we don’t take care of the mother’s health, the baby suffers and if the baby is well, the mother will enjoy her pregnancy.

We don’t just receive fertility treatment patients. If you are pregnant or want to get pregnant spontaneously come with us, you can come at any time during pregnancy.

Right now we are going to focus on the studies of the first trimester but keep in mind that there are three important studies that must be done throughout the pregnancy, such as the screening of the first trimester, the morphological study and the fetal echocardiography.

Schedule online and receive a discount on your first consultation.

It is very important that they know that in week 12 the screening of the first trimester must be carried out. This study will allow us to calculate the risk that your baby may have to present a chromosomal problem such as Down syndrome. We are talking about Down syndrome because it is the most common, the most frequent, but it applies to more chromosomal problems.

Important, this study will be done between week 11 and week 13, we can never reach week 14. If you are already in this range of weeks, please schedule your consultation. This study is going to be carried out with three variables, one is the ultrasound, which is the measurement of nuchal translucency, it is the chubby one that is behind here on the nape of the neck and this must be measured before week 14 because after that it no longer has value.

Two hormones will be checked, which is chorionic gonadotropin and plasma protein linked to pregnancy and this in turn will be combined with maternal age, with all this we will calculate the specific risk for your baby.

“The Screening will give us a sensitivity of 80% to 90%, please do not miss this study, it is very important, it is a study that is not invasive and that can give you a lot of peace of mind during the rest of the pregnancy”
